James 5:14-15 (KJV) 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil (1637) in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

OIL and healing
Luke 10:34 NIV He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him.
Isaiah 1:6 NIV From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness– only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with oil.
Mark 6:13 NIV They drove out many demons and anointed many sick people with oil and healed them.
More scriptures associated with OIL
Only olive oil seems to have been used among the Hebrews. It was used for many purposes: for anointing the body or the hair
Ex 29:7 (NIV) Take the anointing oil and anoint him by pouring it on his head.

OIL was used in some of the offerings
Ex 29:40 (KJV) And with the one lamb a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of beaten oil; and the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink offering.

OIL was one of the most valuable products of the country
