1 TIMOTHY

  • 1 Tim 1:12 (NIV) I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.
  • 1 Tim 2:1-2 (NIV) I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone, 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
  • 1 Tim 2:5 (NIV) For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
  • 1 Tim 4:4-5 (NIV) For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with Thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
  • 1 Tim 4:16 (NIV) Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
  • 1 Tim 5:1-5 (NIV) Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers, 2 older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity. 3 Give proper recognition to those widows who are really in need. 4 But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. 5 The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to pray and to ask God for help.
  • 1 Tim 5:8 (NIV) If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
  • 1 Tim 6:6-8 (NIV) But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
  • 1 Tim 6:12 (NIV) Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
