Is Jesus really God?

A Bible Study by Adam Osborne, Jr.

The bible frequently and clearly states that Jesus is God.

JOHN 1:1-3,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made….(14)And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus, who existed since the beginning of time, became flesh and dwelt with us. Here is positive proof of the deity of Jesus Christ.

Col 1:15-17 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

1 John 1:1-2 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

Psalms 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

Col 2:9 (NIV) For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form

Jesus, himself, stated that He was God.

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Now, if He wasn’t God, after his death would the apostles continued to work and DIE for the cause of Jesus? No way!!! They would have left, broken hearted and upset for being fooled by a mere mortal man. But NO, the apostles continued his work. They worked because they saw him resurrected after his death. They saw the nail scars in his hand. They saw him “appear” out of nowhere into the room where they were assembled. Before Jesus’ death on the cross the apostles were with Jesus day and night for 3 years. They saw his work, they saw his miracles. They witnessed his ascension to heaven!!! He was, IS, GOD incarnate!
