Proverbs 28:7 Young men who are wise to obey the law; a son who is a member of a lawless gang is a shame to his father.
Proverbs 28:24 A man who robs his parents and says, "what's wrong with that?" is no better than a murderer.
Proverbs 14:7 If you are looking for advice, stay away from fools.
Proverbs 22:24,25 Keep away from angry, short-tempered men, lest you learn to be like them and endanger your soul.
Proverbs 17:17 A true friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.
Proverbs 18:24 There are "friends" who pretend to be friends, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
2 Timothy 2:22 Run from anything that gives you the evil thoughts that young men often have, but stay close to anything that makes you want to do right. Have faith and love, and enjoy the companionship of those who love the Lord and have pure hearts.
Psalm 1:1-3 (1)Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men's advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God. (2)But they delight in doing everything God wants them to do, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely. (3) They are like trees along a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper.
Sinners: unconcerned about religion. Don't care about his salvation or the salvation of others. They will talk and try to convince who ever they can to see it their way, don't trouble themselves about praying, reading, repenting.
But day and night are always meditating: always thinking about what's right and wrong. Does what he remembers from the bible, sunday school, etc. Feeds on the word as strength like food.
And all they do shall prosper: A godly education which is earnestly sought is sure to produce the fruits of righteousness. He who reads the Word, prays, meditates, will always see the work which God has given him to do, the power to do it, and the times, places, and opportunities for doing things by which God can obtain Glory and which will build others up (edifies).
Psalm 119:63 Anyone is my brother who fears and trusts the Lord and obeys him.
Proverbs 2:20: Follow the steps of the goldy instead, and stay on the right path.
Psalm 55:14 What fellowship we had, what wonderful discussions as we walked together to the Temple of the Lord on Holy days.
Proverbs 1:10-19 If young sinners tell you, "Come and join us" - turn your back on them! "We'll hide and rob and kill," they say. "Good or bad, we'll treat them all alike. And the loot we'll get! All kinds of stuff! Come on, throw in your lot with us; we'll split with you in equal shares." Don't do it son! Stay far from men like that, for crime is their way of life, and murder is their specialty. When a bird sees a trap being set, it stays away, but not these men. They trap themselves! They lay a booby trap for their own lives. Such is the fate of all who live by violence and murder. They will die a violent death.
Amos 3:3 For how can we walk together with your sins between us?
James 4:4 You are like an unfaithful wife who loves her husband's enemies. Don't you realize that making friends with God's enemies - the evil pleasures of this world - makes you an enemy of God? I say it again, that if your aim is to enjoy the evil pleasure of the unsaved world, you cannot also be a friend of God.
Unfaithful wife: The Jews are often represented as being married to God. So, it is saying here that since you are making friends with sinners that you are an enemy of God (an adulterer).
1 John 2:15-17 Stop loving this evil world and all that it offers you, for when you love these things you show that you do not really love God; for all these worldly things, these evil desires - the craze for sex, the ambition to buy everything that appeals to you, and the pride that comes from wealth are importance - these are not from God. They are from this evil world itself. And this world is fading away, and these evil forbidden things will go with it, but whoever keeps doing the will of God will live forever.
1 Corinthians 15:33, 34 Don't be fooled by those who say such things. If you listen to them you will start acting like them. Get some sense and quit your sinning. For to your shame I say it; some of you are not even Christians at all and have never really known God.
